Silver Sentenced to 7 years. May remain free on bail

Federal Judge Valerie Caproni sentenced former NY Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver to 7 years in Prison, as opposed to the initial 12 years she gave him at his first trial. Silver will pay back more than 3.7 million in ill-gotten gains from the legal referrals, AND was fined another 1.75 million dollars.

But like Silver told me outside the court, he does not believe he is headed to prison on October 5th, the day he is the report in to federal authorities. Silver, a first time criminal, believes he will remain free on bail pending his appeal.
This is the story I did on Silver's Sentencing
